Course Description
The Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry has been developed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to operate effectively and safely, while meeting the requirements of the SIA to work as a security officer.

- The main characteristics of the Private Security Industry
- The importance of safe working practices
- Roles and responsibilities of security officers
- Drug-misuse legislation
- Issues and procedures relevant to the role of a security officer
- How to conduct effective search procedures
- Queue management
- How to recognise, assess and reduce risk in conflict situations
- Problem-solving techniques when resolving conflict

- On-site courses (training for groups at your venue)

Delivery Method
- Face to Face (4 days in the classroom)
Assessments
- Practical and written assessments are observed and recorded by the Trainer throughout the course.
Pre-requisites
- Learners must be able to perform practical tasks at floor level.
- We recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy, or equivalent. However, we acknowledge and embrace Viva-Voce (Verbal Assessments) for learners who may require additional support during assessment.
- If you believe changes may be needed to the course or its assessment due to a disability, please inform us as soon as possible, or at least two weeks before the start date. In most cases, this will provide us with sufficient time to assess your requirements and implement any necessary adjustments.
Certification
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will receive a Level 2 Award for Security Officers e-certificate.
