Course Description
The Highfield Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Refresher) has been developed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a security officer and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualifications requirements.
Course Content
- Conducting effective search procedures.
- Ensuring the safety of vulnerable individuals.
- Understanding terrorism threats and the role of security personnel in Multiple-choice test – 28 questions (45 minutes).
- Practical assessment – Demonstrating search techniques.

Assessments
- Practical and written assessments are observed and recorded by the Trainer throughout the course.
Pre-requisites
- Learners must be able to perform practical tasks at floor level.
- We recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy, or equivalent. However, we acknowledge and embrace Viva-Voce (Verbal Assessments) for learners who may require additional support during assessment.
- If you believe changes may be needed to the course or its assessment due to a disability, please inform us as soon as possible, or at least two weeks before the start date. In most cases, this will provide us with sufficient time to assess your requirements and implement any necessary adjustments.
Certification
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will receive a Highfield Level 2 Award for Security Officers e-certificate.
