Course Description
The purpose of this course is to prepare Learners to deal with immediate life-threatening injuries from terrorist incidents and personal attacks.
This qualification is for all members of the public who wish to learn lifesaving skills and techniques in the event of a deliberate multiple casualty incident.
Course Content
- Determine the appropriate actions to take in various events, using the citizenAID app or pocket guide. These events include knife attacks and active shooters, exploded bombs, suspicious items, and acid or vehicle attacks.
- Report incidents to the emergency services.
- Prioritise multiple casualties.
- Provide sufficient information when the emergency services arrive.
- Respond to an unresponsive casualty who is breathing.
- Control severe external breathing. This includes applying manufactured and improvised tourniquets and using improvised and manufactured dressings to pack wounds.

- Face to Face (3 hours in the classroom)
Assessments
- Throughout the course, learners will be observed and monitored by the Trainer.
Pre-requisites
- Learners must be able to perform practical tasks at floor level.
- If you believe changes may be needed to the course or its assessment due to a disability, please inform us as soon as possible, or at least two weeks before the start date. In most cases, this will provide us with sufficient time to assess your requirements and implement any necessary adjustments.
Certification
Upon completion of this course, learners will receive a Level 2 award in citizenAID e-Certificate.
