Course Description
This course is ideal for employers who, through their First Aid Needs Assessment, have identified the requirement for Emergency First Aiders in the workplace. Specifically designed for beginners, the course provides a practical and hands-on introduction to basic first aid.
The primary focus is on preventing situations from escalating and equipping learners with essential life-saving skills that can be applied until professional medical help arrives. Delivered in a clear, engaging, and approachable manner, the course ensures participants leave feeling confident, capable, and prepared to make a real difference in an emergency.

- The Role of the Emergency First Aider
- First Aid Priorities
- Basic Life Support
- Awareness of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Recovery Position
- Control of Bleeding

Availability

Assessments
- Practical assessments are observed and recorded by the Trainer throughout the course.
Pre-requisites
- Learners must be able to perform practical tasks at floor level.
- We recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy, or equivalent. However, we acknowledge and embrace Viva-Voce (Verbal Assessments) for learners who may require additional support during assessment.
- If you believe changes may be needed to the course or its assessment due to a disability, please inform us as soon as possible, or at least two weeks before the start date. In most cases, this will provide us with sufficient time to assess your requirements and implement any necessary adjustments.
Certification
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will receive a Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work e-Certificate.
