Course Description
This is one of the few training courses that applies to everyone in the workplace, including casual and temporary staff, as well as any external companies or contractors active in your work environment.
The course is essential for your team and your company, since the law states that, as an employer, you must ‘ensure that your employees are provided with adequate safety training’.
Fire Awareness Training is a legal requirement for all staff under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and current HSE regulations.
Course Content
- General fire precautions to be observed in all workplaces
- Causes of fire and ignition sources
- The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Use and maintenance of fire extinguishers
- Use of other firefighting equipment
- Emergency evacuation procedures
- Action to be taken on hearing a fire alarm
- Location of Assembly points
- Special arrangements for staff with disabilities and visitors

Delivery Method
- Face to Face (3 hours in the classroom)
Assessments
- Practical assessments are observed and recorded by the Trainer throughout the course.
Pre-requisites
- Learners must be able to perform practical tasks at floor level.
- We recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy, or equivalent. However, we acknowledge and embrace Viva-Voce (Verbal Assessments) for learners who may require additional support during assessment.
- If you believe changes may be needed to the course or its assessment due to a disability, please inform us as soon as possible, or at least two weeks before the start date. In most cases, this will provide us with sufficient time to assess your requirements and implement any necessary adjustments.
Certification
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will receive a Fire Awareness e-Certificate.
