Course Description
Our comprehensive 1-day Mental Health Awareness course not only covers how to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions, but it also helps to develop the skills needed to offer support and guidance to others.
The course actively promotes ‘personal positive wellbeing’ and enables employees to become active advocates of mental health in the workplace.
Course Content
- Assist Mental Health First Aiders
- Understand mental health and its importance
- Understand the roles and legislation associated with mental health in the workplace
- Understand a range of common mental health conditions
- Understand the application of a mental health first aid at work action plan

Assessments
- There is no assessment required for this course
Pre-requisites
- Learners must be at least 16 years of age on the first day of training.
- If you believe changes may be needed to the course due to a disability, please notify us as soon as possible, or at least two weeks before the start date. In most cases, this will provide us with sufficient time to assess your requirements and implement any necessary adjustments.
Certification
Upon completion of this course, learners will receive an FAIB Mental Health Awareness certificate.
