Forestry First Aid at Work (+F)
Forestry First Aid at Work (+F)
- Catastrophic Bleeding Control
- Crush injuries
- Effects of extreme cold
- Lyme disease
- Emergency planning and remote medical assistance
It must be noted that these topics are to be covered in addition to the standard First Aid at Work course syllabus.
Before you attend a course
Although our trainers will accommodate all, learners attending the course must understand that there will be elements of both mental and practical work included on the course, and that everyone will be expected to participate.
Assessment & Certification
Learners will be continually monitored throughout, and awarded an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate (F+) upon completion of the course. The HSE recommend that all Emergency First Aiders at Work (F+) attend a 3-hour Annual First Aid Refresher course to ensure that they are up-to-date with procedures and to reduce the level of “skills fade”.
Please note: This two hour course is a bolt-on to the three day First Aid at Work course.
Alternatively, it can be a bolt-on to an in-date First Aid at Work course qualification. This course provides the knowledge and competence for a learner to deal with emergency first aid situations in a forestry/agricultural environment and covers the recommended topics stated in the Forestry Commission First Aid policy 2015.
Due to the short duration of this course and the practical work involved, this course is delivered in the classroom only.
